Massachusetts Boy's Health Failing After Mom Allegedly Failed to Give Him Cancer Meds

John Eagan

A Bay State boy had a fighting chance of survival after being diagnosed with cancer, but now his odds are not so good anymore.  And police say it is his mother who is responsible for his failing health.

Jeremy Fraser, from Salem, found out he had cancer a couple of years ago, and was supposed to have a good chance of beating it as long as he took his medicine.  But the boy's father, Eric Fraser, found out that the 8-year-old's mother dropped the ball and never filled her son's prescriptions.

The mother, Kristen Ann Labrie, is charged with reckless child endangerment.  She has pleaded not guilty to the charges, but has lost custody of her son to his father.  Doctors say Jeremy's original 90% chance of survival has dropped to about 10% now.

My prayers are being said for this poor boy. This mother needs to go to jail and stay their in the dark. I'm glad that the father finally stepped in to do his part. How could any judge give custody to a women like that. I'm just upset that their is plenty of women who can't have a child, who would have loved and taken care of this boy and made sure he saw doctors, took his meds and ate properly. May the guardian angel come down and help this child.

how can a mother do something so cruel to her own child. i hope that jeremy pulls through and is alright. my prayers are with him. God always watches over his angels. thumbs up to dad for stepping in and doing the right thing. its very hard to find a dad who wants to care for a healthy child never mind one who needs medical care and has a long road to recovery.
