Tom Brady Says He's Ready to Play in Season Opener

AP

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Tom Brady says he'll be ready to play in the New England Patriots season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady has been nursing a right foot injury and hasn't played in any of the Patriots three exhibition games.

The quarterback told WEEI radio in Boston on Monday that even if he sits out the final exhibition game Thursday night at the New York Giants, he'll be ready for the Chiefs.

Last year's NFL MVP stretched with his teammates and dropped back and threw passes without any apparent restriction Monday during the first 15 minutes of practice in which the media were allowed to watch.
