New Bedford Police Using Technology and Asking for Your Help to Catch City's Criminals

According to the New Bedford Police Department, it's now your turn to help clean up the streets.

In recent months, New Bedford Police have been getting and counting on more tips from the public to help their 300 officers on the street.  So much so that the department now advertises for tips.  And all of their new police cars have the New Bedford PD website listed in the back windows.

Police are even asking tipsters to use their own cameras to take pictures of anyone or anything that looks suspicious, and then upload the pics straight to detectives.  And the department guarantees tipster anonymity.
