ABC 6 is following developing news out of Swansea, where a woman there was attacked during a frightening home invasion.

Police say a man broke into a home on Lafayette Street around 12:45pm Wednesday afternoon and startled the woman who lives there.  Officials say the man slashed the woman's throat with a hunting knife during a struggle and then fled into the neighborhood on a bicycle.

Police found the bike at a nearby Sunoco station on Wilbur Avenue.  The suspect is described as a white male, 5' 9" tall, with a thin build and black hair.  Officials say he may be in his late 30's, early 40's, wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans and was sweating profusely.
