ONLY ON 6:One New Bedford Police Officer Expected to be Fired, Another Will be Disciplined

Turbulent times for two New Bedford Police Officers, one about to be fired, the other will face disciplinary action.

The first officer, Edson Santos is expected to be stripped of his badge for a violent confrontation outside a New Bedford Bar that involved Santos, his girlfriend, and a fellow officer.

Santos was later charged with choking his girlfriend, and then pushing another police officer

The second officer a 22-year-veteran, Officer Norman Duchesneau, who allegedly put an ad up on Craigslist of himself, in full uniform, asking sexually suggestive questions. Duchesneau will be disciplined, suspended for at least 30 days without pay.

This is funny to me because there is a lot of things that go on in that department and nothing is said... "everyone has skeletons, One by one they come out the closet." Everything done in the dark comes to the light.

Jim, The department and the mayor disciplined this officer because he is held to a higher stature in the community than others. He sets an example for others. That is not the type of example the New Bedford Police Department wants to send.

I saw the picture, no visable badge or Dept. patch. So he no longer is protected by the First Amendment right to free speach. Yes he has bad taste & looks like a fool, but did he hurt anyone. They said he is single, so he isn't even a cheater!
