FIRST ON ABC 6: New Bedford Scammers Preying on Elderly

New Bedford Police are warning the city's residents about a recent string of scams involving yard work, painting, or other home improvement jobs. The suspects in these cases typically go after the elderly residents of New Bedford, offering a good deal on improvement work, asking for half the money up front.

Then, the jobs are never completed, and victims are out hundreds of dollars if not more.
