Fall River Murder Suspect Held Without Bail

District Attorney Sam Sutter announced today that Juan Valazquez, 18, of 248 Globe St., Fall River, was ordered held without bail during his arraignment in Fall River District Court.
Mr. Valazquez has been charged with murder, armed assault with intent to murder, carrying an illegal firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, possession of ammunition without an FID card, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and intimidation of a witness.
Fall River Police received a call at 4:08 Sunday morning regarding two gunshot victims outside of 188 East Main Street. Ervin Millsap, 40, of Fall River was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alfred Coursey, 39, of Fall River was also shot during the incident and is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Rhode Island Hospital.
The investigation into the homicide was coordinated by Assistant District Attorney Karie Rayburn, and was conducted by Fall River Police and the Massachusetts State Police Unit assigned to District Attorney Sutter's office.
Mr. Valazquez was arraigned Monday morning by Assistant District Attorney Rayburn in Fall River District Court, 289 Rock St.
