POLICE: 12-Year-Old Mass. Boy Hit in Crosswalk During Drag Race

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - A 12-year-old boy using a crosswalk to
cross a Lowell street has been struck by a car police say was drag
racing another vehicle.

Witnesses say the vehicles were speeding to beat a traffic light.

The boy, whose name was not made public, was thrown about 15 yards by the impact at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, and was flown to Children's Hospital in Boston with serious injuries.

Witnesses told police that two vehicles were racing to beat the
traffic light when one of them struck the boy. Witnesses say one of the drivers stopped and looked back at the boy, then allegedly sped away.

Police tell The Sun of Lowell that both vehicles were small. A
blue car hit the boy, while the other car was black.

Both drivers left the scene? God help them, to make a mistake by speeding or being in a rush is one thing, but to leave that boy in the street is inexcusable and unforgivable. I wonder if they have children of their own, would they leave their children to die? I hope the law enforcement follows thru with this. There has to be video or cameras somewhere in vicinity. I hope they call me for jury duty on this one...

Well in this case both drivers should be charged and if the boy dies they should be charged with murder forget vehical homucide they took off.
