Chris Boardman

On Sunday, February 07, 2010, at 2:30 am, Seekonk Police received a report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of 804 Newman Avenue. The crash involved two vehicles which collided head on. The lone operators in each car had to be extricated from their respective vehicles by Seekonk Fire & Rescue personnel.

One operator was a 35 year-old woman from Pawtucket. The other was a 56 year-old woman from Attleboro. Both were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, one with critical, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Preliminary information derived from the crash scene revealed one woman had been traveling south on Newman Avenue. Her vehicle then crossed the center line of the roadway and collided with the other car causing it to roll onto its side.

The roadway was closed down for several hours so that personnel from the Seekonk Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team could investigate the crash scene.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
