"I want to apologize, first and foremost, to my family and my constituents who I have let down.

My actions on that night sent a terrible message and today I took the appropriate step to accept full responsibility for those actions. I look forward to putting this difficult experience behind me, making amends, and continuing to do my best for the people of my district."
