INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) - If the Celtics do tomorrow what they
have not yet done in this year's playoffs, they are off to the
Eastern Conference finals.
And that is win on the road.
Game 6 of their conference semifinal series is at Cleveland and
if everything holds to form and the Cavs win, it's back to Boston
for Game 7 on Sunday.
The winner takes on Detroit in the conference finals.
The Celtics obviously want to avoid Game 7. But winning on the
road in the playoffs has been hard for every team this year.
So far in the second round, home teams are 19-1. The only team
to win an away game has been the Pistons, who won by a point in
Orlando.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers joked that the Celtics could try
something drastic to snap the road woes -- like bring the team's
scorekeepers or wives with them to Ohio.
