Pats tight end Watson could miss opener

AP

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - The Patriots may be without starting
tight end Benjamin Watson on Sunday.

Watson has a knee injury. He hasn't practiced all week, and was
not on the field for the part of practice observed by the media
today.

If Watson is out, David Thomas will start, backed up by Stephen
Spach, whom the Pats re-signed this week.

The Patriots start the regular season at home against the Kansas
City Chiefs.
