FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Patriots safety Rodney Harrison's
season appears over after he re-injured his right thigh muscle in
last night's victory over Denver.
A representative for Harrison, Bill McLaughlin, says he's had a
slight tear in the muscle all season and was getting treatment for
it. Harrison played in all six games this season and wasn't listed
on any injury reports. McLaughlin said Harrison has "played
through injuries before."
Harrison was listed on the Patriots injury reports with a thigh
problem before their first two playoff games last season. He played
in those games and the Super Bowl, for which he wasn't on the
injury report.
The injury could mean the end of Harrison's career. The 15-year
veteran is in the last year of his contract with New England.
Coach Bill Belichick gave no update of Harrison's injury today
but said after last night's 41-7 win that it "doesn't look good."
The NFL Network first reported today that Harrison had a torn
quad. The Boston Globe later reported he had a torn right quad.
During last night's game, it was announced he had a knee injury.
