Red Sox to Celebrate Rhode Island Day July 5th

BOSTON, MA - The Boston Red Sox today announced the celebration of Rhode Island Day at Fenway Park on July 5, 2009 when the Red Sox face the Seattle Mariners. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase by residents of Rhode Island via an online random drawing. Applicants must fill out and submit a registration form to participate in this opportunity to purchase.

Registration for the random drawing on redsox.com will begin tomorrow, June 17 at 12:00 noon ET and will close at 12:00 noon ET on Monday, June 22. The Red Sox will then conduct a random selection of winners from the pool of registrants. The winners will have the opportunity to purchase up to four (4) tickets at face value for the Red Sox - Mariners game at 1:35 p.m. ET on July 5.

In order to be eligible for this opportunity, fans must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and a resident of Rhode Island at the time of entry. Registrations will be limited to one entry per person.

Additionally, starting tomorrow at noon, the first 100 Rhode Island residents who sign up for Red Sox Nation Citizenship at redsoxnation.com will be guaranteed the right to purchase four tickets to Rhode Island Day. Furthermore, many of the participants of the Pre-Game Ceremonies on Rhode Island Day will be residents of the state, including the National Anthem performer and the presenters of the Honor Guard.
