Back at The Dunk Sunday, Nov. 1 vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers


Providence, RI – The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 3-0 Saturday evening at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The P-Bruins next home game is Sunday, November 1 at 4:05 p.m. for a Family Game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

After a scoreless opening period, the Monarchs took a 1-0 lead at the 19:13 mark of the second period, while shorthanded. Marc-Andre Cliche had the unassisted goal, his first of the season as Manchester went into the second intermission leading 1-0.

Manchester made it 2-0 at the 6:06 mark of the third period. Bud Holloway tallied his fourth goal of the season, while Andrei Loktionov and Oscar Moller recorded the assists. The Monarchs added an empty net goal at the 19:51 mark. Corey Elkins scored the unassisted goal, his second of the season, as Manchester went onto the 3-0 victory.

Dany Sabourin stopped 25 of 27 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jeff Zatkoff made 31 saves for the Monarchs. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins are back in action Friday at the Verizon Wirless Arena against the Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. Providence concludes its three game road trip Saturday at the XL Center versus the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend Sunday, November 1 at The Dunk against the Sound Tigers for a Family Game at 4:05 p.m.
