Providence F Peterson ejected after elbow

AP

.
MILWAUKEE (AP) - Providence forward Jamine Peterson has been
ejected from the Friar's game after officials say he purposely
elbowed a Marquette player in the face.

The incident happened with 2:28 left in the first half of
Sunday's game.

Marquette's Joe Fulce came down the court and began to set up in
the paint when Peterson crossed in front of him and raised his
right elbow, striking Fulce in the face.

Fulce was called for an intentional foul on the play, but showed
officials he had a cut on his lower right lip. Officials looked at
replays of the incident for several minutes before calling a
flagrant foul on Peterson and ejecting him.

Peterson came in leading the Friars with 17.6 points and 10.6
rebounds per game.
