Former Brown Football Standout Colin Cloherty To Play In Super Bowl XLIV

Providence, Rhode Island - Former Brown All-Ivy tight end Colin Cloherty ’09 is a member of the Indianapolis Colts’ 53-man roster for Super Bowl XLIV to be played in Miami, Florida on February 7, 2010.

Brown players have competed in the Super Bowl for three straight years, with linebacker Zak DeOssie ’07 playing for the New York Gianta in Super Bowl XLII, and wide receiver Sean Morey ‘99 playing in Super Bowl XLIII for Arizona last year. Morey also played for Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XL.

Cloherty played in game 16 for the Colts and has been on the 53-man Indianapolis roster throughout the NFL Playoffs.

As a senior at Brown, Cloherty led all Ivy League tight ends with 40 catches, while compiling 418 receiving yards. A first team All-Ivy selection for the 2008 Ivy Champion Bears, Cloherty had a career game against Holy Cross, making 14 catches, eighth best in Brown football history, for 166 yards and a 22-yard touchdown reception.

The 6-3, 245 pound Cloherty made 99 career catches, 12th best in Brown football history, covering 1,211 career yards.
