Back at The Dunk Friday, Nov. 20 vs. Springfield Falcons


Providence, RI – The Providence Bruins fell to the Hershey Bears 5-1 Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their goal from Mark Derlago. The P-Bruins return to action at home at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Friday, November 20 at 7:05 p.m. for Dunkin’ Donuts Mug Night against the Springfield Falcons.

The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead only 34 seconds into the opening period. Mikko Lehtonen held the puck in the corner and worked it to the left point for Andy Wozniewski. He took a shot and the puck was redirected into the net off the stick of Derlago, for his first goal of the season. Hershey tied the game at one at the 16:39 mark. Keith Aucoin tallied his fifth goal of the season, while Boyd Kane and Alexandre Giroux recorded the assists. The game went into the first intermission tied at one.

The Bears took their first lead of the game at the 3:15 mark of the second period, while on the power play. Aucoin netted his second goal of the game and sixth of the season, with John Carlson and Zach Miskovic picking up the assists. Hershey made it a two goal advantage at the 7:37 mark, while on the power play. Patrick McNeill scored his second goal of the season, with Giroux and Karl Alzner getting the assists. The Bears added another goal at the 8:03 mark. Oskar Osala tallied his fifth goal of the season, while Jay Beagle had the lone assist.

Hershey added an insurance goal at the 19:45 mark of the third period. Francois Bouchard netted his seventh goal of the season, while Andrew Gordon grabbed the lone assist. The Bears went on to the 5-1 victory.

Dany Sabourin stopped 32 of 37 shots for the P-Bruins, while Michal Neuvirth made 24 saves for the Bearss. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 6-for-8 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins head on a three game road trip next weekend. Friday the P-Bruins travel to the Onondaga County War Memorial to take on the Syracuse Crunch at 7:30 p.m. Saturday Providence heads to the Tsongas Arena against the Lowell Devils at 7:00 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend at the DCU Center versus the Worcester Sharks at 3:05 p.m.
