URI Women Upset The Bonnies

Amanda McGrew scored 12 points to lead Rhode Island to an upset win over St. Bonaventure 61-49 in the first round of the Atlantic 10 tournament.

Crystal Bellinger and Sierra Cooper had 11 points each for the 10th-seeded Rams, who advance to face second-seeded George Washington in Saturday's quarterfinal round.

Katelyn Murray scored 20 points, Dana Mitchell added 15 and Tiara Johnson had 10 rebounds for the seventh-seeded Bonnies.

They dropped their third straight game and lost to the Rams for the 10th
time in 11 games.

The Bonnies' 18 victories this season matches a school record.
