Gerbe's hat trick leads Boston College to 6-1 win over North Dakota in Frozen Four

AP

DENVER (AP) - Nathan Gerbe scored a hat trick as Boston College
cruised into its third straight NCAA Division One hockey championship game with a 6-1 win over North Dakota.

John Muse stopped 28 shots and the Eagles rode a four-goal
opening period in the victory over the Fighting Sioux in the
semifinals in Denver.

Andrew Orpik, Dan Bertram and Ben Smith also scored for BC.

The Eagles have beaten North Dakota the last three years in the
semifinal round, but haven't won a national title since 2001, when
they beat the Sioux in overtime.

Boston College lost to Michigan State in the final last season
and to Wisconsin in 2006.

The Eagles play either Michigan or Notre Dame in Saturday's
championship.
