Providence, Rhode Island - After amassing 309 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in Brown’s 34-17 victory over Princeton, Brown senior wide receiver Buddy Farnham was honored with the Gridiron Club of Boston Gold Helmet Award as the outstanding player in New England. He received the award at the New England Football Writers Weekly Luncheon on Wednesday at Harvard’s Dillon Field House.

The 309 all-purpose yards posted by Farnham rank seventh in the Ivy League record book. Farnham’s record performance didn’t stop there. He caught 10 ?passes for 199 yards and an 80-yard touchdown reception, the fifth longest pass play in Brown ?football history.

With the Bears clinging to a three-point halftime lead, Farnham ran back the opening kickoff of the second half 92 yards? for a touchdown to give Brown a 10 point lead and control of the game. His 92-yard kickoff return ranks 11th in the Brown record book. His lone punt return was good for 18 yards to account for an incredible 309 ?all-purpose yards.

Farnham, who was also named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, has stood out at the national level all season. He ranks 7th in the nation in receptions with 7.4 per game, ranks 6th nationally in punt return yards (16.56 yards per game) and 6th all-purpose running (148.0 yards per game). His 192 career receptions are fourth among active FCS players and 12th best in Ivy football history. Farnham’s 557 career punt return yards rank second in the Brown record book, while his 1,034 kickoff return yards rank fifth best in Brown football history. His 2,377 career receiving yards are 18th in the Ivy League record book.
