Brown’s Nate Lovett Named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week

Brown news release

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown sophomore punter Nate Lovett (East Providence, RI/East Providence HS) has been named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week for his punting exploits in Saturday’s game against Penn at Brown Stadium.

Lovett helped Brown control the field position battle by punting eight times for an average of 44.2 yards per punt against the Quakers. Three times he pinned the Quakers inside their own 20-yard line, including one at the four-yard line. He also booted a 73-yard punt, the seventh longest punt in Brown football history.

For the season, Lovett has punted 34 times for a 38.8 yard per punt average, while also handling the kick-off duties for the Bears. He also ran for 37 yards against Stony Brook on a faked punt.

Lovett and his Brown teammates will be back in action on Saturday, November 7, when the Bears (4-3, 2-2 Ivy) take on Yale (4-3, 2-2 Ivy) at the Yale Bowl in New Haven. The game will be televised live on the YES Network, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
