SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men’s basketball head coach Tim O’Shea is pleased to announce the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the fall of 2010. Matthew Lee (Bloomfield, N.J.), Corey Maynard (Adelaide, Australia) and Troy Robinson (Roslindale, Mass.) will all attend Bryant and suit up for the Bulldogs starting next fall.



A 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard, Lee will arrive in Smithfield from Westtown School in West Chester, Pa., where he has been a starter for the past three seasons, averaging over 16 points per game. The guard is strong on the floor and from the free throw line, where he shoots better than 84 percent. That number gets even better in league play, where Lee has shot just above 90 percent from the line. As a sophomore, he was named a first team all-league selection in the Pennsylvania Friends League.



Maynard, a 6-foot-3 guard from Adelaide, Australia, graduated from Sacred Heart College High School (AUS) in November of 2009. He played for the Sturt Sabres of the ABA where he was team captain, averaging 26 points per game en route to being named MVP of the South Australian State Championships. Maynard was also a member of the South Australian U-20 National Team, as well as the U-18 South Australian Metro Nationals Team. Maynard was a teammate of current Bryant freshman Claybrin McMath while with the Sturt Sabres.



Currently a senior at Brimmer & May School in Chestnut Hill, Mass., Robinson is a 6-foot-6, 190-pound forward. As a junior, Robinson averaged 10.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while being named the team’s Most Improved Player. Brimmer & May enjoyed one of its best seasons ever last year, compiling a 23-4 record in the NEPSAC Class B league. This past summer, Robinson was also named to the All-Star team at the Academic All-American Camp at Brandeis University. Prior to arriving at Brimmer & May, Robinson played at Boston’s O’Bryant High School, where he was an all-city selection in 2007.



“We are looking forward to Matthew, Corey and Troy joining our program next season,” said O’Shea. “All three young men come from highly successful programs and we believe that all three are a perfect fit here at Bryant University. They certainly will be a key for us as we continue to make strides at the Division I level.”
