South Kingstown's Erik Murphy, one of the most sought after juniors in the country, has given a verbal commitment to Gator Head Coach Billy Donovan.
Murphy, whose father Jay played in the NBA, currently plays at St. Mark's Prep in Massachusetts.
At 6-9 and still growing Murphy, an excellent student also, has drawn interest from many of the top college basketball programs in the country.
After narrowing his choices to seven schools, Murphy recently gave a verbal commitment to the two-time National Champion Gators.
Florida Head Coach Billy Donovan was a former star player at Providence College where he led the Friars to the Final Four in 1987.
