PATRIOTS MAKE PRACTICE SQUAD TRANSACTION

Patriots news release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots signed LB Thomas Williams to the practice squad today. New England had an open position on their eight-man practice squad following the signing of CB Kyle Arrington from the practice squad to the 53-man roster over the weekend.

Williams, 6-1, 237 pounds, was originally a fifth-round draft pick by Jacksonville out of USC in 2008. He appeared in six games for the Jaguars as a rookie. Williams was waived by Jacksonville prior to the start of the regular season and spent time on the Seattle and Houston practice squads this season.
