Seven lost hikers found safe in Freetown State Forest

According to Dartmouth police, seven hikers were located safe Friday morning after being lost in the Freetown State Forest overnight.

Dartmouth police spokesperson, Detective Robert Levinson tells ABC6 News that a 9-1-1 call was received around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning from a man who said he and a group of friends were lost.

When the police arrived on scene the man had already made his way out of the woods. Area police departments gathered at the site to search for six other people who were lost.

By 10-a-m they had all been located. Police say the four males and three females were all adults. Only one female suffered mild hypothermia and was treated for low blood-sugar.
