Shots fired at man in Providence, police chase down suspect

Violence continues in the capital city. Providence Police chased down a suspect and took him into custody after shots are fired.

Police got a call around 8:55 am that someone had been shot at on Harvard Avenue. A tip led police on a chase after a red Honda. Providence officers and state police searched for the suspect on foot using a K-9 and eventually cornered him on Glenbridge Avenue.

The suspect was taken into custody and the victim is expected to identify him as the shooter. If positively identified, the suspect will be charged with felony assault.

Police are still searching for the gun. No one was injured. No word on what the motive was behind the violence.
