Warwick, R.I. -

A 42-year-old Warwick man is in critical condition after a bad motorcycle accident that happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday night. According to Warwick police, the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The man is still in the trauma intensive care unit as of Saturday morning, according to Rhode Island Hospital.

According to police, Tod Jerdee, 42, of Warwick, was riding his motorcycle southbound on Post Road. Police say he lost control, hit a curb and struck a sign pole on the center median. Jerdee was thrown from his bike and landed in the roadway.

Jerdee was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by North Kingstown Rescue, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police do not believe that alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.

ABC6 News will post details as they are uncovered.
