TV and radio personalities from Rhode Island battled it out on the softball field Saturday. It was all in fun and for a good cause.
It was the fourth annual "Duel on the Diamond softball game to benefit the A Wish Come True Foundation.
ABC6 was represented by our main anchorman, John DeLuca. Reporter Alexandra Cowley did a great job in right field. Courtney Fallon was an all-star, playing catcher behind the plate.
The big winners, though, are the kids with medical conditions, who just want to make a wish come true.
Their favorite destination is Disney World:
"The whole family gets to go. They don't have to worry about anything, except being a family again, having that quality time together. I mean, we do air care, car rental, spending money, accomodations, tickets and passes. We take care of everything," said Rosemary Bowers, of the A Wish Come True Foundation.
Liz Tufts played center field and batted for the TV squad. ABC6 reporter ark curtis got to coach first base "and" video tape the highlights.
The TV team beat the radio team with a score of 8 to 7.
