TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) - A Taunton school teacher is held without bail after being accused of having sex with two underage female students.
Thirty-three-year-old Patrick Doyle of Seekonk has pleaded not guilty to charges including statutory rape, enticing a child under 16, and distributing obscene material. He appeared briefly in Taunton District Court on Tuesday for a dangerousness hearing which was rescheduled for next week to allow his new attorney to become familiar with the case.
The attorney, Lefteris Travayiakis, said Doyle maintains he is innocent.
Doyle was first arrested last week on charges related to one student and freed on $100,000 cash bail. He was arrested again Monday on new allegations from a second student.
Taunton's school superintendent says the school department is beginning proceedings to fire him.
