There was a "food fight" in Warwick Wednesday night, for a good cause, and ABC-6 was happy to help.

It was the annual "Burger Battle 2012" at Smokey Bones barbecue in Warwick.

The competition featured 20 contestants,  including ABC-6 Reporter Mark Curtis.

Mark battled hard in the first round with his half pound burger, that was "all the way.

He bowed out in the first round.

The event raised thousands of dollars for, "Homes for our Troops" a Massachusetts foundation that builds and modifies homes for wounded veterans.

The burger contest was won by Jamie McDonald of Grandview, Connecticut.

He polished off a one-pound burger with all the extras, in just one-minute and 21 seconds, after eating two other half pound burgers.
