WARREN and WOONSOCKET, R.I. - Electrical power has been restored in Warren and Woonsocket, R.I., as of Sunday afternoon.
Woonsocket Police say the electric company had left the area and restored power as of 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Woonsocket fire officials say power was knocked out in several areas of the town due to an auto accident on Diamond Hill Road shortly after 12 a.m. Sunday morning. The driver sustained minor injuries.
According to fire officials, the accident brought down a pole and some transformers. About half the grid was restored in less than an hour, and the rest was restored Sunday morning.
There was also a power outage in Warren Sunday morning. According to Warren police, a vehicle struck a pole on Metacom Avenue, causing outages in that area.
Warren police said that power had been restored in that town around noontime.
