A fire in a vacant building in Providence is under investigation.
Investigators aren't calling it suspicious just yet, but at least one witness believes that the blaze was definitely "fishy"
The fire broke out just before 6PM on Thursday night at 15 Trask Street in Providence.
Providence firefighters got on scene and were able to get it under control quickly, but not before the fire did extensive damage to the house.
Fire investigators are looking into the cause behind the fire, but while they're not ready to call it suspicious just yet, at least one witness is.
Alex Rivero saw the fire as it started and then called 9-1-1 as the fire grew more and more intense.
"Before you knew it, in a few seconds the entire fence was engulfed, and the whole front of the house was on fire."
Although Alex isn't exactly sure how the fire started, he believes that it's likely that someone had a hand in getting it going, either by accident or on purpose.
"It was strange, how it just caught on fire. It's just a shame, it really is." said Rivero.
