PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island health officials have suspended the license of a visiting nurse they say falsely told a patient with multiple sclerosis he was a physical therapist and tried to have sex with her.
The health department says Ronald Olsen visited the woman's home June 2, identified himself as a physical therapist and drank wine while there. The department says he returned on other occasions, purported to do physical therapy exercises on the patient and tried to have intercourse with her. She has a history of chronic pain.
The department says Olsen worked for VNA of Rhode Island and isn't a licensed physical therapist.
Messages were left for Olsen and VNA. A health department spokesman says a hearing initially scheduled for Monday was postponed.
