Defending Champ John Isner Advances to Semifinals in Newport

Top seeded John Isner won a straight sets victory over Ivan Van Der Merwe to advance to the semfinals at the Newport Tennis Hall of Fame Championships.

Isner will face fellow U-S Olympian Ryan Harrison in Saturday's semi's. Harrison won when Benjamin Becker retired, down 0-3 in the second set. Harrison won the opening set 6-4.
