More than half the nation is suffering from the worst drought in fifty years.
Among those feeling the effects are farmers right here in Rhode island.
VInny Confreda has been a commercial farmer for most of his adult life. Vinny owns Confreda farms in hope..he's seen plenty of droughts in his lifetime-but this one's a little different, he says,
"It started a little earlier, we've had a very dry winter, we haven't had the much rain."we've been actually irrigating, we're actually irrigating three farms right now, we're just about managing to keeps up with it , but its almost like another full time job.In spite of the challenges of the drought , Confreda says he will stay the course. and keep looking to the skies for rain.
