1912 Red Sox World Series trophy to be auctioned

BOSTON (AP) - The 1912 Boston Red Sox World Series trophy presented to team manager Jake Stahl is going on the auction block.
The trophy, which has all the players' names etched on it, will be auctioned Aug. 2 at Camden Yards in Baltimore by Dallas-based Heritage Auctions.
The trophy's current owner, Robert Fraser of Westwood, N.J., says he decided to sell it after being contacted by several companies who wanted to auction it off for the 100th anniversary of both the team's World Series win and the opening of Fenway Park. Fraser said he and his wife paid $74,000 when they bought it from a sports memorabilia dealer in 2007.
Heritage expects the trophy will fetch more than $300,000 at auction. A replica of the trophy is on display at Fenway Park.
