A Fall River landmark closes its doors.

Al Mac's diner is no longer open for business.

The diner's been serving up pancakes, cheesecake, and home style meals since 1910.

Normand Gauthier sadly looks at the last paychecks he must pass out to thirty-three employees...

He realizes he's closing down a favorite restaurant in the community that has seen Ted Kennedy..Governor Deval Patrick...even native son- Emerald Lagasse, come through it's doors-.

He says the iconic restaurant is another economic casualty. He says

"My business is like my family, my extended family and closing the business is a reality of this economy." Norm's hoping someone will purchase Al Macs, and keep the 102 year- old tradition of good food and sweet memories going.
