Indians Thump PawSox, 5-1
The Pawtucket Red Sox never got the offense rolling on
Thursday night in Indianapolis,
losing to the Western Division leaders 5-1. Two runs in the third, two more in
the sixth and a final run in the seventh, were more than enough for Indy. Chase
D'Arnaud had a triple and an RBI single. Jose Tabata had a run-scoring
sacrifice fly. Jefff Clement and Brandon Boggs added back to back RBI doubles.
Tony Pena fell to 1-9, working five and a third innings. He allowed 4 runs on 8
hits.
Pawtucket scraped
together just a run on 6 hits. Jon Hee had a pair of hits, including a double
and Ryan Lavarnway the only Pawtucket
run batted in. The PawSox fall to 59-48.
The series and road trip wraps up on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. Lefty Chris
Hernandez (0-0) faces Daniel Cabrera (4-4).
