Police arrest 15 in Route 24 and 195 crack down - ABC6 - Providence, RI and New Bedford, MA News, Weather

Over the weekend Massachusetts State Police stepped up patrols of Route 24 and Interstate 195, arresting 15 and issuing 222 citations.

The patrols are part of a new initiative to step up police presence after several accidents in recent weeks.

Among the 15 arrests were 9 people charged with operative under the influence.

One drunk driver, who is currently in the hospital, was issued a summons  to court for OUI charges after a crash with another car that also sent that driver to the hospital.
