"Somebody bail me out!" said ABC - 6 Reporter Mark Curtis.

What started out as a routine day at work for this reporter...turned into a ride in a police car...and then off to jail all for a good cause...helping people through the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Erin Yoder Logue, the MDA Fundraisersaids, "We are hoping to raise about 30 thousand dollars here today."

My fellow inmates were booked, jailed and photographed just like me. Tony Andrade needed to raise 250 dollars bail.

Tony Andrade, an MDA "Jailbird" donor said, "I plea that they help me out. Muscular Dystrophy is a very good organization, and I got to get out of jail!"

So it was time to hit speed dial and call all our friends... hoping to raise bail money... to get out.

ABC 6 Reporter Mark Curtis called saying, "Hey Doreen. Doreen (Scanlon), it's Mark Curtis. Remember we used to anchor the news together in the morning? Hey listen, I'm in jail. I need some bail money. Hello? Hello Doreen? Doreen?"

Joe's American Bar and Grill served as our jail house...and the "bail"...otherwise as cash donations...was being counted everywhere:

Paul Petit, an MDA "Jailbird" donor said, "It really brought out the generosity in the people I know and especially the people I work with."

Rita Steele, an MDA "Jailbird" donor, "I raised 800 dollars and my goal was to send one kid to camp, so I met the goal."

And as always, the firefighters were here too, raising "bail" money, for MDA:

Chris Cahoon, a West Warwick Firefighter said, "We see these kids how need help and it's our way of giving back."

MDA is still counting up all the cash...and there's a lot of it. The good news, everyone....got sprung from jail!
