A man in Pawtucket cruising the streets is trying to lure young girls into his car. Five girls have come forward so far. Police worry there could be more if they don't get the man off the streets.
All of the victims, who are between the ages of 15 and 17, have the same story. A man pulled up to them near the CVS on East Ave in Pawtucket calling them beautiful. He then asked them if they needed a ride. And when they refused he followed them down the street. Police say it's happened several times in the last week.
15 year old Nakiya Brown isn't one of the victims but finds the news unsettling."I have sisters and brothers and friends that walk alone too I don't want that to happen to us, " says Brown.
Pawtucket police say the man stops the girls in broad daylight. One even got into his car, but managed to get away. She told police he didn't hurt her but he asked for her address and phone number. She refused.
Nakiya Brown says she'll now think twice about pounding the pavement alone. "I'll be more cautious especially when I walk to my friends because I stay out late", adds Brown.
Police are looking for a Cape Verdean man in his late 20's driving a Silver Infiniti. If you have any information at all or if you've been approached by him call Pawtucket police
