Whitting settles with stripper

Suspended North Providence Police Chief john Whiting has reached a settlement with the stripper who sued him after he stole 700-dollars out of her purse.

Chief John Whiting was convicted earlier this month of taking the money from Justina Cardoso's S-U-V during the aftermath of tropical storm Irene.

Cardoso sued but no word how much Whiting has agreed to pay Cardoso.

He'll be sentenced in September.
