Woonsocket Mayor Leo Fontaine is ready for a fight.
Woonsocket is about to respond to the out-of-state atheist group , that wants the city to take down a memorial cross. The Mayor says, the freedom of religion foundation has responded back with a second letter asking for a formal legal response
Mayor Fontaine now has retained legal council.He says money for a defense of the cross is not an issue. The Mayor says if this does move forward into a legal battle, we do have the offer of assistance from national foundations that they have agreed to cover the cost of the defense.
Mayor Fontaine says he has an answer for the atheist group and will announce it today, at press conference at five PM today.
