NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) - The Newport Jazz Festival is concluding another year, 58 years after it began in Rhode Island's city by the sea.
The iconic musical event wraps up Sunday evening at Fort Adams State Park.
Sunday's lineup features performances from singer Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks along with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. The Maria Schneider Orchestra, Jason Moran and the Bandwagon and Gretchen Parlato and Lionel Loueke are also scheduled to perform.
The jazz event, first held in 1954, has showcased a who's who of jazz stars. George Wein, the festival's long-time producer took the festival and the Newport Folk Festival nonprofit last year in an attempt to ensure their long-term success.
