It was hectic on Robin Street in Providence Sunday night, as crews scrambled to put out a fire tearing through a two family home.
Crews told ABC6 they're not sure how the fire started around 9pm, but they do know it began on the first floor and traveled up.
It forced 12 people out of their homes. One of the families living there has seven children.
"My downstairs neighbor was yelling that the house was on fire," said resident Icie McCarthy, "I just grabbed my kids, came down and all of a sudden the fire was just everywhere."
The Red Cross helped out those families Sunday. Thankfully no one was injured. The fire's cause was still under investigation as of Sunday night.
