Statement from the Red Sox on Carl Crawford's elbow surgery...

STATEMENT FROM THE BOSTON RED SOX REGARDING CARL CRAWFORD

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox issued the following statement today in regards to outfielder Carl Crawford:

"Carl Crawford underwent a successful left elbow ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction (Tommy John surgery) performed by Dr. James Andrews today in Pensacola, FL. We expect Carl to make a full recovery."
