BOSTON (AP) - The Massachusetts Commission on Judicial Conduct has named a former state prosecutor as its new executive director.

Howard Neff III succeeds Gillian Pearson, who retired earlier this month after working for the commission for 24 years.

Neff has worked as staff attorney and supervising staff attorney for the commission since 2006. Before that, he worked as an assistant district attorney in Suffolk and Norfolk counties.

The commission serves as the forum for complaints alleging misconduct or disability by state judges. Its mission is to enforce standards of judicial conduct for judges in a manner that promotes public confidence in the judiciary and preserves the integrity of the judicial process.

The executive director supervises the investigation of complaints and recommends dispositions.
