A double shooting in broad daylight in Central Falls leaves two people in the hospital and one person in police custody.
Police got the call around noon Monday. They responded to Hedley Avenue where they found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. The manager at a nearby business identified the victims as Jose Rodriguez and his wife. Rodriguez's boss says he was out on his lunch break when he was shot. Both victims have been treated and released from the hospital.
Three suspects have been arrested in connection to the shootings. Investigators identified 30-year-old Edward Morales of Lincoln as the shooter. Also arrested, are Javier Morales, 27, and Jorge Oquendo,24. Police say they were conspirators.
Central Falls police seized two loaded .357 handguns.
The three will be arraigned in 6th District Court in Providence later this morning on two counts of Felony assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a gun without a permit, and conspiracy.
Javier Morales has an outstanding Superior Court Warrant for violation of the conditions of his bail.
