Newport Police say they have found a body matching the description of Theodore "Teddy" Oliveira in the water off Coaster's Harbor Island.
A passing boat found the body at around 11:45 a.m. Monday. The Newport Harbor Master, Newport Police, and Rhode Island State Police all responded and took the body out of the water.
The Medical Examiner pulled up to the scene of the search around 12:30 this afternoon. Newport Police, along with State Police were using dogs to track Oliveira down.
Oliveira was reported missing by his mother last Tuesday. Friends say Oliveira left some of his belongings by the edge of the water and got on a dinghy around 11:30 last Monday night. Police say a dinghy and backpack were recovered from the water last Thursday that they say could possibly have belonged to Oliveira.
